Strategies to get the perfect vacation property experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserve your Sullivan's Island rental property in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Sullivan's Island vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Sullivan's Island area visitors guides which will include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Sullivan's Island area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and choose a perfect Sullivan's Island rental:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 1307 Cove Avenue by AvantStay
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or may be applied to your contract.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
