Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation property experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Sullivan's Island vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • In the Sullivan's Island area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Sullivan's Island area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Sullivan's Island visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting and booking the best Sullivan's Island rental home:

  • Start by selecting the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Entertainers Dream w\/ Pool, Hot Tub, Game Room! 9 BRs! has 9 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
